Lesante Collection: Discovering the Soul of Zakynthos Through Luxury and Authentic Hospitality
Some destinations captivate you with their scenery. Others stay with you because of the people you meet and the experiences you share. Zakynthos effortlessly offers both. While the island is internationally recognized for its turquoise coastline and dramatic cliffs, it also reveals a more authentic side through its villages, traditions and warm hospitality.
During my stay, I experienced two remarkable properties within the Lesante Collection: Lesante Blu, an elegant adults-only retreat overlooking the Ionian Sea, and Lesante Cape, a resort inspired by the architecture and culture of a traditional Zakynthian village. Although each hotel has its own identity, both share the same philosophy of refined luxury, genuine hospitality and a deep connection to the island. Lesante has built its reputation around personalized service and authentic experiences, something that became clear from the very first day.
First Impressions
From the moment I arrived, Zakynthos impressed me with its remarkable diversity. Hidden coves, olive groves, traditional villages and crystal-clear Ionian waters create a landscape that feels wonderfully varied despite the island's compact size.
After a day of exploring, returning to the Lesante Collection felt like coming home. While each property offers its own distinct atmosphere, both provide an immediate sense of comfort and tranquility, making them the perfect base from which to discover the island.
Accommodation
Perched above the coastline, Lesante Blu embraces the endless blue of the Ionian Sea. As an adults-only, all-suite resort and member of The Leading Hotels of the World, the hotel is designed for complete relaxation, where panoramic sea views and discreet luxury take center stage. The peaceful atmosphere makes it an ideal retreat for couples or anyone seeking a quieter escape.
Only a short drive away, Lesante Cape tells an entirely different story. Rather than creating a traditional resort, the property has been thoughtfully designed as a contemporary interpretation of a historic Zakynthian village. A central village square, charming streets, a café, traditional shops, a museum and even its own church create an atmosphere that celebrates the island's heritage while seamlessly incorporating modern luxury.
Experiencing both hotels during one holiday offered two complementary perspectives of Zakynthos: one centered on peaceful seaside elegance and the other deeply connected to local culture and tradition.
Hospitality That Defines Luxury
Beautiful surroundings certainly contribute to a memorable holiday, but it was the people who made this stay exceptional.
Throughout both properties, the level of service remained consistently outstanding. Every member of staff delivered hospitality that felt genuine rather than rehearsed. Whether offering recommendations, anticipating small details or simply greeting guests with warmth each day, there was a natural attentiveness that elevated the entire experience.
It is this personal approach that transforms luxury from something visible into something you genuinely feel.
Wellness & Facilities
Lesante Blu is designed for effortless relaxation, centred around a spectacular infinity pool that overlooks the Ionian Sea and a private sandy beach. The Essence Wellness & Spa features an indoor heated pool, sauna, hammam, Jacuzzi, treatment rooms, and a fully equipped fitness centre, creating a peaceful retreat for rest and rejuvenation.
At Lesante Cape, several outdoor pools are set within the resort's village-inspired surroundings, offering tranquil spaces to unwind. The Armonia Wellness & Spa complements the experience with an indoor pool, sauna, hammam, Jacuzzi, treatment rooms, and a modern fitness centre, combining Mediterranean-inspired wellness with contemporary luxury.
Gastronomy
Gastronomy became one of the defining highlights of my stay. Across both resorts, every meal reflected exceptional quality, showcasing Mediterranean cuisine and authentic Greek flavours with an emphasis on fresh local ingredients.
Both Lesante Blu and Lesante Cape offer an impressive collection of restaurants. Highlights include the elegant Melia Fine Dining, Ostria and Gaia at Lesante Blu, alongside Fiore Fine Dining, Novita Restaurant & Bar, Bostani Farm to Table, and The Village Taverna at Lesante Cape.
The most memorable evenings, however, were spent at Bostani Farm to Table and The Village Taverna. While Bostani celebrates seasonal, farm-to-table dining, The Village Taverna captures the spirit of a traditional Greek village. The Greek and Zakynthian theme nights brought local culture to life through authentic cuisine, live music and genuine hospitality, creating one of the most memorable experiences of the trip.
Discovering Zakynthos
While both resorts offer plenty of opportunities to unwind, Zakynthos itself deserves exploration.
Beyond the famous beaches, the island rewards visitors with scenic viewpoints, charming villages and spectacular coastal landscapes. Visiting Mizithres was undoubtedly one of the highlights of my trip, showcasing the extraordinary natural beauty that has made the Ionian Islands so beloved by travelers.
Combining days of exploration with the comfort and luxury of the Lesante Collection created the perfect balance between adventure and relaxation.
Luxury is often associated with beautiful architecture and exceptional facilities. While the Lesante Collection undoubtedly offers both, what truly distinguishes these resorts is something less tangible.
It is the warmth of the staff. The consistently outstanding cuisine. The thoughtful celebration of Zakynthian culture. The balance between contemporary comfort and authentic local experiences.
Staying at both Lesante Blu and Lesante Cape allowed me to experience two very different interpretations of luxury, each complementing the other perfectly. One provided serenity overlooking the endless blue of the Ionian Sea, while the other immersed me in the traditions and character of Zakynthos. Therefore, I would definitely recommend staying in both of the hotels when visiting the island.
Combined with unforgettable island moments such as visiting Mizithres and enjoying the lively Greek and Zakynthian evenings at The Village Taverna, this became far more than a luxury holiday. It became a genuine introduction to the heart and soul of Zakynthos, one that I would happily return to.
